Compares a public page now with its earliest Internet Archive (Wayback) snapshot on or after a date: changed yes/no, word similarity, added and removed text lines, and the price-like amounts ($, €, £) before and after. Only what the archive captured is compared; pages the archive never saved return 404.
Output
A JSON object containing: whether the page changed (boolean), a word-level similarity score (0–1), arrays of added and removed text lines with counts, the Wayback Machine archive URL and snapshot timestamp used as the baseline, the timestamp of the live check, and arrays of price-like amounts ($ € £) found before and after. Returns 404 if the Wayback Machine has no snapshot for the given URL.

It is ideal for change detection, content auditing, price monitoring, and verifying whether a page has been updated since a known date — without needing to store your own baseline snapshots. It is not suitable for pages that have never been archived, pages requiring authentication, or real-time streaming monitoring.
Side effects
- 404 returned if Internet Archive has never captured the target URL
- Stale or incomplete snapshots if Wayback Machine did not crawl the page around the baseline date
- Dynamic/JavaScript-rendered pages may yield incomplete text comparisons since archive captures may be static HTML
- Very new domains or pages may have no archive history at all
- Rate limiting or network errors from the Wayback Machine may cause failures
