It is the first step in a snipe workflow when you only have a partial token identifier and need to resolve it to a contract address or confirm its existence on pump.fun or Raydium.
Side effects
- Token not found — returns empty result set if no tokens match the query
- Query too vague — may return many unrelated tokens requiring further filtering
- Stale data — newly launched tokens may not yet be indexed
- Payment failure — call rejected if USDC payment via x402 is not settled
- Rate limiting — too many rapid calls may be throttled
