Use this endpoint when you need to perform compliance, AML, KYC, or sanctions screening on a person or company before onboarding, payment, or partnership — especially when an audit trail is required. Prefer this over generic company lookup endpoints when the primary goal is risk assessment rather than business data retrieval.

• Name not found in screening databases — returns empty or low-confidence result
• Invalid country code format — returns validation error
• Ambiguous name with multiple matches — returns multiple candidates or asks for disambiguation
• Service unavailable — returns 5xx error
• Insufficient funds or payment failure — returns 402 payment required
