Side effects
- URL is unreachable or returns a connection error — endpoint may return a network error status
- Redirect loop detected beyond max_redirects limit — returns truncated chain up to the limit
- Invalid or malformed URL input — returns validation error
- Target server returns non-redirect non-200 status on first hop — chain terminates early
- DNS resolution failure for the target URL
