Suverse Tor Relay Summary

Choose this endpoint when you need a lightweight, quick check on whether a specific host is part of the Tor network — particularly when you only need nickname, fingerprint, running state, and addresses rather than full relay metadata. It is preferable over a full Tor relay detail lookup when bandwidth or latency matters, or when you are doing high-frequency membership checks. Ideal for security tools screening inbound traffic, Tor network monitors, or any agent that needs to validate Tor relay status without parsing a heavy response payload.

• Relay not found in Onionoo — returns empty or null result if the fingerprint/nickname does not match any known relay
• Onionoo upstream unavailable — proxy may return 5xx or timeout if the Tor Project's Onionoo API is down
• Invalid input format — malformed fingerprint or missing required body fields may return a 4xx validation error
• Payment failure — x402 payment not processed correctly results in 402 response before any data is returned
• Stale data — Onionoo data has a refresh lag so a relay that just joined or left may not reflect current state
