Side effects
- Invalid wallet address format (not 0x + 40 hex) returns a validation error
- Invalid or non-ERC-20 contract address in tokens array may return zero balance or an error
- More than 20 token addresses provided exceeds the maxItems limit and will be rejected
- Unsupported chain value (not 'ethereum' or 'base') returns an enum validation error
- Network congestion or RPC unavailability may cause timeouts or partial results
