Side effects
- Invalid or malformed iCalendar text returns a parse error
- ICS content exceeding 1 MB is rejected
- Unrecognized IANA timezone strings cause floating-time resolution to fail
- max_events cap reached silently truncates output — caller must check count
- Empty or whitespace-only ics input returns validation error
