Prefer this over raw search APIs when cross-provider deduplication and consistent JSON formatting matter.
Side effects
- Query too vague or empty — returns empty results array
- Both Serper and Brave APIs unavailable — service error response
- num parameter out of range (below 1 or above 20) — validation error
- Rate limit or payment failure — 402 or 429 error
- Query triggers content filtering — no results returned
