Endpoint
POSThttps://mpp.orthogonal.com/tavily/search?utm_source=zero.xyzWhen to prefer
Choose this endpoint when you need real-time, up-to-date web search results for a query — especially for current events, news, or information that may not be in a training corpus. Prefer this over static knowledge retrieval when freshness matters. Use Extract instead if you already have a specific URL and want its full content.
Side effects
- Empty or invalid query returns an error response
- Rate limit exceeded returns a 429 error
- Network timeout if Tavily's upstream is slow
- Malformed request body returns a 400 validation error
- No results found for highly obscure or nonsensical queries
