How this service works
Soil and agriculture intelligence for grower, agronomist and farming agents at any lat/lon. Returns live soil moisture at four depths, soil temperature at 0/6/18/54 cm, reference evapotranspiration (ET0), vapour pressure deficit and frost risk. For irrigation scheduling, soil-health monitoring and crop management.
Output
A JSON object containing the queried location details, timestamp, and an agriculture block with: soil moisture readings at four depths, soil temperature at 0/6/18/54 cm, reference evapotranspiration (ET0), vapour pressure deficit, and frost risk indicator. Also includes payer address/network and a unique request ID.
Example use cases
Daily irrigation scheduling for a vineyard
“Check the current soil moisture at all four depths, ET0, and vapour pressure deficit for my vineyard at lat 37.9, lon -122.5 — I want to know whether I need to irrigate today.”
Frost alert for overnight crop protection
“What's the frost risk right now at my orchard near Fresno, California (lat 36.74, lon -119.77)? I need to decide whether to run the frost protection system tonight.”
Soil temperature monitoring for planting decisions
“Give me the soil temperatures at 0, 6, 18, and 54 cm for a field in Salinas Valley at lat 36.68, lon -121.63 — I'm trying to figure out if the ground is warm enough to plant.”

Endpoint
GEThttps://x402.tbs-digital.com/weather/agriculture?utm_source=zero.xyzWhen to prefer
Choose this endpoint when you need granular soil-layer data (moisture and temperature at multiple depths), ET0, vapour pressure deficit, and frost risk specifically for agricultural or irrigation decision-making. Prefer it over general weather endpoints when the use case is grower-facing, agronomist tooling, or crop management rather than atmospheric conditions alone. Ideal for precision agriculture agents that need soil-health intelligence at a specific GPS coordinate or named location.
Side effects
- Missing both lat/lon and city — returns error requiring at least one location parameter
- Invalid latitude (outside -90..90) or longitude (outside -180..180) — returns validation error
- City name not recognized or ambiguous — may return no-match or wrong-location result
- No soil data available for remote ocean or polar coordinates — may return null agriculture fields
- Rate limiting or payment failure via x402 protocol — returns 402 Payment Required
