Output
A list of all aircraft currently within the specified bounding box, each with live position (lat/lon), altitude, speed, heading, callsign, and whether the aircraft is on the ground or airborne, sourced from adsb.fi ADS-B open data.

Use this endpoint when you need live, real-time aircraft positions for a specific geographic area defined by a lat/lon bounding box, powered by global ADS-B open data from adsb.fi. Prefer this over historical flight APIs when current airspace situational awareness is required, and over airline schedule APIs when you need actual live positions rather than scheduled routes.
Side effects
- Missing or invalid bounding box parameters returns a 400 error
- Extremely large bounding boxes may return excessive or truncated results
- No aircraft in the bounding box returns an empty state list
- Temporary adsb.fi data feed outages may result in stale or unavailable data
- Payment failure (x402) returns a 402 response before data is served
