Use this endpoint when you need to dynamically reconfigure which blockchains an existing Zerion transaction subscription monitors — for example, when a user adds a new chain to their portfolio or wants to reduce noise by narrowing the watched networks. This is the right call when the subscription already exists and only the chain filter needs updating, not when creating a new subscription from scratch.
Side effects
- Invalid subscription_id returns 404 not found
- Unrecognized chain_id values return 400 bad request
- Attempting to set an empty chain_ids array may return a validation error
- Expired or cancelled subscription may return 404 or 410 gone
- Payment failure (insufficient USDC) blocks the request with a 402 response
- Malformed PATCH body returns 422 unprocessable entity
