Input: base (default EUR), optional symbols (comma list), date (YYYY-MM-DD, last ~90 days; weekends use the prior fixing), amount. Output: JSON rates for the fixing date, % change vs prior fixing, converted amounts, raw ECB EUR rates. Source: ECB statistics, updated each TARGET day ~16:00 CET; reference only. Example: ?base=USD&symbols=KRW,JPY&amount=100

Use this endpoint when you need official, authoritative ECB reference rates — e.g. for financial reporting, audit trails, invoicing, or compliance where a market-rate provider would not be acceptable. It covers 30 major currencies with guaranteed daily ECB fixings and includes percent-change metadata and conversion in a single call, making it more convenient than querying the ECB directly. Not suitable for real-time intraday rates or currencies outside the ECB's 30-currency basket.
Side effects
- Date out of range (beyond ~90 days history) returns an error
- Weekend or holiday dates are silently shifted to the prior TARGET day fixing
- Unsupported currency code in symbols or base returns an error
- Future dates are not supported
- Service unavailable before ~16:00 CET on a TARGET day (rates not yet published)
