How this service works
Gas price history on Ethereum (eth_feeHistory): base fee in gwei for each of the last N blocks (5-100, default 20), how full each block was, and the 10th, 50th and 90th percentile priority fees, with the low, average and high base fee over the window. Use to judge whether fees are rising, pick a priority fee or time a transaction; for the current price alone use eth_gas.

A JSON object containing: the chain name and ID, the requested block range (fromBlock, toBlock), a per-block array with block number, base fee in gwei, gas used ratio, and a [p10, p50, p90] priority fee array; plus aggregate baseFeeGwei stats (low, average, high, latest, next) and priorityFeeGwei percentiles (p10, p50, p90) across the window.

Use this endpoint when you need a historical window of Ethereum gas data to judge trends, pick an appropriate priority fee, or decide whether to wait before submitting a transaction. For just the current gas price without history, use the eth_gas endpoint instead. Prefer this over raw RPC calls when you want pre-computed percentiles and aggregates without parsing raw eth_feeHistory yourself.
Side effects
- blocks parameter out of range (< 5 or > 100) returns validation error
- RPC node temporarily unavailable returns 5xx error
- Network connectivity issues may cause timeouts
- Payment not included or insufficient returns 402 response (first 25 calls free)
