Output
A list of public holidays for the requested country, region, and year, including holiday names and dates. Moveable feasts (e.g. Easter, Whit Monday) are calculated algorithmically from the Easter date rather than looked up from a static table. Without a region code, only nationwide holidays are returned. Germany supports state codes and the special municipal code BY-AU for Augsburg.

Use this endpoint when you need authoritative, algorithmically computed public holidays for Germany (all 16 states plus Augsburg special case), Austria (all 9 states), or Switzerland (all cantons) — especially when scheduling, deadline calculation, or payroll processing depends on accurate regional holiday data. Prefer this over static calendar tables when moveable feasts (Easter-derived holidays) must be correct for any arbitrary year between 1970 and 2200.
Side effects
- Invalid country code returns error or empty result
- Region code not matching the selected country causes no regional holidays to be returned
- Year outside 1970–2200 range is rejected by schema validation
- Missing required parameters may default to current year and DE
- Unknown canton or state abbreviation yields no regional holidays
