Use this endpoint when you need an accurate count of working days in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) with full public holiday awareness at the state or canton level. It is superior to generic date-math utilities because it knows region-specific holiday calendars, handles special municipal cases like Augsburg (BY-AU), and supports custom company holidays on top of statutory ones. Prefer it over a local calendar library when correctness for German-speaking jurisdictions is critical.
Side effects
- Invalid date format (not YYYY-MM-DD) causes a 400 error
- Unsupported region code for the selected country returns an error or falls back to nationwide holidays only
- Date range where 'bis' is before 'von' may return zero or an error
- More than 100 custom days off (zusatzfrei) exceeds maxItems limit
- Missing required 'von' or 'bis' fields results in a validation error
- Invalid country code outside DE/AT/CH is rejected
