Output
A signed animica identity certificate containing the agent name (marked self-declared), the ML-DSA-65 public key with binding status (PROVEN if key_proof was valid, PRESENTED otherwise), not_before/not_after validity timestamps derived from ttl_seconds, any self-asserted claims (flagged as unendorsed), and optionally an observed Animica chain head (height and hash) as an issuance time lower bound. Also includes a payment confirmation block.

Choose this endpoint when an AI agent needs a post-quantum (ML-DSA-65 / FIPS 204) signed identity credential — especially when interoperating with systems that verify Animica-scheme keys. Prefer it over generic PKI or OAuth flows when quantum-resistance is a requirement, when you want optional blockchain time-anchoring for auditability, or when you need to attach self-asserted claims to the credential. It is pay-per-call with no registration, making it suitable for ephemeral or short-lived agent identities.
Side effects
- 400 Bad Request — key_proof envelope does not verify (wrong signature, wrong payload, or older than 3600s); call is free and not charged
- 400 Bad Request — agent_name is empty, longer than 128 characters, or contains non-printable ASCII
- 400 Bad Request — public_key is not exactly 3904 hex characters
- 503 Service Unavailable — anchor_chain=true but the Animica node is unreachable; call is not charged
- Payment failure — x402 payment of $0.006 USDC not satisfied before the call is processed
