Choose this endpoint when you need a pre-filtered, market-wide feed of SEC Item 2.06 material impairment disclosures without parsing the full 8-K tape yourself. It is ideal for credit risk monitoring, asset-quality dashboards, and quantitative screening workflows where write-down events are a specific signal. Prefer it over full-text EDGAR search when you want structured event metadata (ticker, CIK, score, flags) rather than raw document matches, and when you want impairment-only filtering already applied.
Side effects
- Empty events array if no impairment filings occurred in the requested window
- Invalid since timestamp format returns a 422 validation error
- limit out of range (below 1 or above 200) causes a 422 error
- Payment required (402) if x402 USDC payment header is missing or invalid
- Stale index_started_at if EDGAR ingestion is lagging — filings may be delayed
