Prefer this over raw price endpoints when the goal is cross-sectional strength comparison rather than absolute price data, and over generic market cap rankings when directional momentum vs a base asset is what matters.
Side effects
- Invalid or unsupported base asset symbol returns an error
- Requested coin not in the 32+ coin universe returns missing data or error
- Upstream price feed unavailability causes stale or missing RS values
