Returns a paginated list of internal transactions, each including from/to address details (with ENS names, tags, scam flags, contract status), transfer value, gas limit, success/error status, timestamp, block number, transaction hash, and any created contract info. Also returns next_page_params for cursor-based pagination.

Choose this endpoint when you need internal transaction traces (sub-calls, internal ETH transfers, contract creations) for a specific transaction or block on EVM-compatible chains supported by Blockscout. It is ideal for debugging smart contract interactions, auditing DeFi flows, or tracing execution paths across multiple internal calls. Prefer it over Etherscan-style APIs when working with non-mainnet EVM chains (Base, Optimism, Gnosis, etc.) that Blockscout indexes natively.
Side effects
- Invalid or unsupported chain_id returns an error or empty result
- Non-existent transaction_hash returns empty items array
- Malformed query parameters return a 400-level error
- Chain not indexed by Blockscout returns no data
- Rate limiting or payment failure returns 402 or 429 error
- Very recent transactions may not yet be indexed, returning empty results
