How this service works
Place search over more than 200 million places. Returns businesses and points of interest with address, coordinates, rating, and a temporary id. Use it to find places in an area. Pass q and a location such as san francisco ca united states, or latitude and longitude.
Output
Returns an array of place results, each containing a temporary ID, place name, type, URL, categories, coordinates (latitude/longitude pair), postal address (display string), and rating info (rating value, best rating, review count).

It is ideal for generating candidate lists, map overlays, or presenting options to a user before drilling into details.
Side effects
- Missing both 'q' and 'location'/'latitude'/'longitude' may return empty or generic results
- Invalid latitude/longitude values (outside -90 to 90 or -180 to 180) cause parameter errors
- Radius too large or too small may return irrelevant or no results
- Unsupported country codes may fall back to global results
- Temporary place IDs expire and cannot be reused across sessions
- Result count exceeding 100 is rejected
