Choose this endpoint when you need text embeddings and have GDPR, data residency, or EU compliance requirements — particularly when inputs contain PII or sensitive data that must not leave Germany, must not be used for training, and must not be logged. Prefer it over general-purpose embedding APIs (OpenAI, Cohere, etc.) when regulatory compliance or contractual data processing agreements require EU-only processing.
Side effects
- Input array exceeds 64 strings — API likely returns a 400 or validation error
- Empty input array or missing 'input' field — returns 422 or bad request
- Individual strings that are too long may be truncated or rejected
- Payment failure via x402 protocol results in 402 response before processing
