Output
Returns a JSON object with: a newly provisioned email address (e.g. k3v9q2w8@inbox402.example), an order ID to use when polling for received messages, a status field confirming creation, and an expiration timestamp 7 days out. To read emails received at this address, you call the separate mail-messages endpoint with the returned orderId.

Choose this endpoint when an agent needs to complete email-based account verification for a third-party service without exposing a real or personal email address, and without requiring phone verification or captcha solving. It is ideal for automated workflows, privacy-preserving signups, or testing SaaS products. Prefer it over phone-number-based verification (which the sibling endpoint covers) when the target service accepts email verification. Not suitable if you need to send email — this is strictly receive-only.
Side effects
- Payment failure or insufficient USDC balance — inbox not created, payment error returned
- Domain availability issues — clean domain temporarily unavailable
- Expiration — inbox silently stops receiving after 7 days; orderId becomes invalid
- No sending capability — attempting to send mail from the address will fail; it is receive-only
- Rate limiting — too many inbox creation requests from a single source may be rejected
