Prefer this over spot-price or GPU marketplace endpoints when you need deterministic on-demand (not spot/preemptible) pricing with historical depth back to 2014.
Side effects
- Unknown or misspelled instance type returns an error or empty result — instance must match the exact SKU slug from the /instances catalog
- Invalid region slug returns an error — region must match the provider-specific slug format (e.g. us-east-1 for AWS, not 'Virginia')
- Unsupported provider value returns a validation error — must be one of aws, gcp, or azure
- Instance/region combination may not exist if the SKU is not available in that region
- Payment failure (x402) if USDC funds are insufficient — request will be rejected before returning data
