Find North Carolina (NC) court cases where a COMPANY is a party — an LLC, corporation, insurer, hospital or landlord. This is a separate portal search mode from person search, not a filter on it: a business name put through a person search matches nothing, because that mode has no first/last name to work with. SLOW: a live portal query. Read-only, NC only.
Output
Returns a list of NC court case records in which the specified business is a named party, including case numbers, filing dates, case status, hearing dates, county, and party roles. Results are sourced live from the NC court portal and are read-only.

Use this endpoint specifically when the party you are researching is a business entity (LLC, corporation, insurer, hospital, landlord) in North Carolina — not a person. A business name submitted through the person-search mode will return nothing, so this dedicated business-search mode is required. Prefer this over person-search whenever the subject has a corporate suffix or is clearly an organizational entity. This is NC-only and returns live portal data.
Side effects
- Business name not found — returns empty results if the name doesn't exactly match portal records
- Portal timeout — live query may be slow or time out under high load
- Ambiguous business names — common names may return a large number of unrelated cases
- County name misspelled — invalid county may return an error or empty results
- Date format errors — incorrect date format may cause query rejection
- No results for valid business — company may operate under a different registered name
