It is ideal for historical conversions back to 1999 and for EUR-centric conversions, but note it only covers the ~30 currencies for which the ECB publishes daily rates.
Side effects
- Unsupported or misspelled currency code returns an error (ECB only publishes rates for ~30 currencies relative to EUR)
- Date before 1999-01-04 returns an error as ECB historical data starts from that date
- Weekend or public holiday date may return the most recent prior business day rate or an error
- Missing required 'from' or 'to' query parameter returns a 400-level error
- Rate not published for a given currency pair on a specific date (some currencies have gaps)
