It is the right first step in a shopping workflow — use it before fetching product details, refreshing offers, or comparing baskets. Prefer it when you need paginated browsing of catalog results rather than direct lookup by a known product identifier.
Side effects
- No catalog connector enabled — returns an error requiring connector setup before search is available
- Query too long or empty — rejected by pattern/length validation
- Invalid country or currency code — rejected if not matching 2-letter ISO country or 3-letter ISO currency patterns
- Price range conflict — min_price_minor greater than max_price_minor may return empty results or error
- Limit out of range — values below 1 or above 20 are rejected
- No matching results — returns empty result set if no products match the query and filters
- Pagination cursor invalid or expired — returns error when cursor is malformed or stale
