How this service works
Convert HTML to tidy markdown ($0.005 USDC via x402). Pass html (string) and/or url (public https to fetch). At least one required; if both, prefers html and warns. URL fetches use the same allowlist as WELL-002 (https only — http/file/data/localhost/private IPs rejected; 1 MB body, ~10s timeout, max 5 redirects). Returns JSON { source, url?, final_url?, content_type?, markdown, warnings }. Provided as is, with no warranty or guarantee of accuracy or fitness. Nothing is stored.

A JSON object containing: 'source' (whether input came from 'html' or 'url'), optionally 'url' and 'final_url' (after redirects), 'content_type' of the fetched page, 'markdown' (the converted markdown string), and 'warnings' (array of any issues encountered, e.g. if both html and url were supplied).

It is ideal for content ingestion pipelines, documentation scraping for RAG systems, or cleaning up HTML for storage in markdown-based tools. Prefer this over generic web scrapers when your goal is specifically markdown output rather than raw text or structured data extraction.
Side effects
- Non-HTTPS or private/local URLs (http, file, data, localhost, private IP ranges) are rejected with an error
- URL fetch timeout after ~10 seconds returns an error
- Response body exceeding 1 MB is rejected
- More than 5 redirects causes a fetch failure
- If both html and url are provided, html is used and a warning is returned — url is ignored
- Malformed or empty HTML may produce minimal or empty markdown output
