Choose this endpoint when you need a timestamped, verifiable crypto market data snapshot — particularly perpetuals pricing and funding rates — with cryptographic on-chain provenance anchored to Base. Prefer it over generic market data APIs when auditability and tamper-evidence matter (e.g. for backtesting with verifiable inputs, compliance logging, or AI agent decision audit trails). Also use it for prediction market odds on crypto topics. It is pay-per-call with no account required.
Side effects
- No snapshot available at or before the requested as_of timestamp — returns empty or error
- Invalid coin symbol in coins param — may be silently dropped or return an error
- series_hours requested with more than one coin — single-coin constraint violated
- as_of timestamp in the future with no data — falls back to latest available
- Payment not processed (x402 protocol) — returns 402 Payment Required before data is served
