How this service works
Look up one normalized model record by name or short alias such as sonnet or 4o. Returns per-million input and output prices, context and output limits, capability tags, modalities, knowledge cutoff, release date, provider and coding benchmark, each fused from open keyless catalogs LiteLLM, models dev and Aider with a source citation. Unknown names return found false, never an error.
Output
A normalized model record containing: found (boolean), per-million input and output prices in USD, context window size, max output tokens, capability tags (e.g. function-calling, vision), supported modalities, knowledge cutoff date, release date, provider name, coding benchmark score, and source citations from LiteLLM/models.dev/Aider. If the model name is unrecognized, returns found: false without an error.

Side effects
- Unknown model name or alias returns {found: false} rather than an error — agent must check the found field
- Fuzzy alias resolution may resolve to an unexpected model if the alias is ambiguous (e.g. 'sonnet' could map to multiple Claude Sonnet versions)
- Pricing data may be stale if upstream catalogs (LiteLLM, models.dev, Aider) have not been updated recently
- Missing benchmark scores for models not indexed by Aider
- GET method required — POST or other methods will fail
