Check a sales lead before outreach — one call verifies the email address (syntax, MX, disposable/role/free-provider), the company's email setup (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) and its domain age, and returns a verdict: yes, risky or no, with machine-readable reasons. Free personal mailboxes skip the company checks. DNS-level only — no SMTP mailbox probe.

Returns a JSON object with: the normalized email, an address object (format_valid, mx_found, mx_records list, disposable, role_based, free_provider, business_email), a company object with domain age (age_days, maturity, created_at) and email_setup (spf, dkim, dmarc, dmarc_policy, grade, resolves) — null for free personal mailboxes, a boolean partial flag, an array of reason objects with code and detail, a top-level verdict string (yes | risky | no), and a safe_to_email boolean.

Choose this endpoint when you need a fast, DNS-level lead qualification signal before cold outreach or CRM import — it combines email syntax, MX reachability, disposable/role/free-provider detection, and company domain email-security posture (SPF/DKIM/DMARC) and domain age in a single call. Prefer it over generic email-validation APIs when you care about B2B lead quality and want to avoid emailing role addresses, burner accounts, or domains with poor email hygiene. Not suitable if you need SMTP-level mailbox existence confirmation (it explicitly skips SMTP probing).
Side effects
- Invalid email format returns verdict 'no' with reason code invalid_format
- Domain with no MX records returns reason no_mail_server
- Disposable/throwaway address returns reason disposable_address and verdict 'no' or 'risky'
- Role-based address (e.g. info@, support@) returns reason role_address
- Very new domain returns reason new_domain with risky verdict
- Domain that does not resolve returns reason domain_not_resolving
- Missing SPF/DKIM/DMARC returns reason no_email_authentication with lower grade
- Free personal mailbox (gmail, yahoo) returns null company section; company checks skipped
- Partial results may be returned if some DNS lookups time out (partial: true)
- Payment failure or missing x402 payment header returns HTTP 402
