Prefer it over wallet-address-based sanctions checks when you have a person or company name but no blockchain address. It is conservative by design (full-name match only) so it minimizes false positives, making it suitable for automated gates where HOLD/STOP should trigger human review.
Side effects
- Missing required 'name' query parameter returns a 400 error
- Empty string name may return an error or vacuous GO
- Names with unusual characters or transliterations may miss variant-spelled SDN entries
