Use this endpoint when you need to change the visible cosmetic appearance of your own Omniguchi creature by equipping or removing an already-unlocked item. Prefer this over cosmetic unlock endpoints when the item is already in the creature's inventory. This is specifically for the payer's own creature — for gifting cosmetic unlocks to other creatures, use the appropriate unlock endpoints instead.
Side effects
- Cosmetic not unlocked — attempting to equip an item the creature hasn't unlocked returns an authorization error
- Creature not hatched — the payer must have a hatched Omniguchi; calling before hatching returns a 404 or invalid state error
- Invalid cosmetic ID — unknown or malformed item identifiers return a validation error
- Payment failure — insufficient USDC balance or x402 payment rejection blocks the action
- Wrong payer — only the verified payer can equip cosmetics on their own creature; gifting is not supported for this endpoint
