How this service works
Entries on the US Treasury's list of Specially Designated Nationals that match a person name, each with a score, the name that matched and the entry as the list publishes it. A screening aid, not a legal determination. No match means no entry on the lists named scored at or above the minimum; it does not mean the party is clear.
Output
Returns a JSON object with: the sanctions lists queried (name and as-of date), total count of all matches at or above the minimum score, and an array of top matches each containing a match score, the matched name variant, and the full entry (canonical name, title, SDN number, remarks, programs, addresses, and known aliases/AKAs).

Side effects
- Name string too short (<2 chars) or too long (>200 chars) returns validation error
- min_score outside 0.5–1.0 range returns validation error
- limit outside 1–25 range returns validation error
- No matches found returns empty matches array with total 0
- Network timeout or upstream sanctions database unavailability
- Payment failure via x402 if USDC balance is insufficient
