Output
Returns a call record including a unique call ID, the originating and destination numbers, call status (e.g. initiated, ringing, completed), and a timestamp. The agent can use the call ID to track or reference the call later.

Use this endpoint when an AI agent needs to proactively reach a person by voice — for notifications, alerts, reminders, or automated announcements — using a phone number it already owns or has shared access to on the Palmyr platform. It is distinct from SMS endpoints because it initiates a live phone call, optionally with TTS or audio. Prefer this over third-party telephony APIs (Twilio, etc.) when operating within the Palmyr agent infrastructure stack and paying via USDC on Solana or Base with x402.
Side effects
- Number ID not owned or not shared with calling wallet — returns 403 Forbidden
- Destination number is invalid or unreachable — call fails to connect
- Insufficient USDC balance for $0.10 per-call fee — returns 402 Payment Required
- TTS text too long or audio URL inaccessible — call placed but playback may fail
- Rate limiting on outbound calls from the number — returns 429 Too Many Requests
- Number is a temp/disposable number that has expired — returns 404 Not Found
