Use this endpoint when you have incomplete or partial person data (e.g. just a name and employer, or a name and city) and need to discover candidate matches with confidence scores before committing to a full enrichment. Prefer this over the Person Enrich endpoint when you are not confident you have a unique identifier and want to see multiple possible matches ranked by likelihood rather than a single resolved profile.
Side effects
- Insufficient input data to return any candidates — requires at least one meaningful identifier
- No matches found for the provided partial information — returns empty candidate list
- Rate limit exceeded — HTTP 429
- Invalid or missing API key — HTTP 401
- Ambiguous query returning low-confidence results — all candidates below useful threshold
