Returns a JSON object containing a single-use alphanumeric link code (valid for 10 minutes), the expiry timestamp (ISO 8601 string), and the buyer ID of the account being linked to. The code must be presented via the companion 'present link code' endpoint on the other channel within the expiry window.

Use this endpoint when a user needs to consolidate multiple purchasing channels (wallets, agents, or payment methods) under a single Radio Zero buyer account. This is the initiation step — called on the primary account — and must be paired with the 'present link code' endpoint called on the secondary channel. Prefer this over re-registering a new account when the user wants to preserve their existing airtime balance, earnings, or library.
Side effects
- Authentication failure — caller is not a valid authenticated buyer; returns 401
- Rate limiting — too many link codes minted in a short window; returns 429
- Server error — transient backend failure; returns 500
- Expired code — if the returned code is not used within 10 minutes it becomes invalid and a new one must be minted
