How this service works
Current disaster alerts from GDACS (UN OCHA and EC JRC): type (earthquake, tropical cyclone, flood, volcano, drought, wildfire), name, country, alert level, start date, severity and link. Filter by type and alert level. Attribution: GDACS.
Output
Returns a JSON object with a count of matching events, the query parameters used, and an array of disaster events each containing an event ID, name, type, alert color (green/orange/red), start timestamp, affected country, and severity description (e.g. magnitude and depth for earthquakes). Also includes the data source attribution (GDACS, UN OCHA, EC JRC) and a checkedAt timestamp.

Side effects
- Invalid type value (not EQ/TC/FL/VO/DR/WF) may return empty results or error
- Invalid alert value (not green/orange/red) may be ignored or cause error
- Limit outside 1-30 range may default to 10 or return an error
- Upstream GDACS source unavailability may cause stale or failed responses
- Payment not provided or insufficient USDC balance returns 402 error
