Side effects
- Unknown chain name returns empty or error result — chain must be among the top 25 by DEX volume
- Unknown protocol slug returns no data — must use valid DefiLlama slug (e.g. uniswap-v3, not 'UniswapV3')
- Stale cache may lag real-time volume by minutes to hours
- Limit parameter out of range (must be 1–50) returns validation error
- Empty or whitespace-only chain/protocol strings are rejected by schema pattern
