Output
Returns a JSON object with: the normalized barcode string, a boolean validity flag, the detected code type (e.g. EAN-13, UPC-A, ISBN-13), the check digit, the GS1 prefix code, the GS1 registering country (e.g. Spain), and an optional note (e.g. explaining that GS1 prefix indicates registration country, not necessarily manufacturing country). ISBN conversions return the converted code.

Side effects
