Prefer this over generic crypto price APIs when you need XRPL-native DEX order flow rather than CEX prices. Note that AMM pool liquidity on XRPL is separate and covered by a sibling endpoint.
Side effects
- Invalid or unrecognized base/quote currency symbol returns an error or empty order book
- No liquidity on one or both sides returns empty bids or asks arrays
- Network or node connectivity issues to xrplcluster.com may cause timeouts
- Requesting an excessively high limit value may degrade performance or return partial results
