You.com Search API: real-time web search returning ranked results grouped by section (results.web, results.news), each with url, title and description; web results also carry snippets. Use when an agent needs fresh, citable web data (news, markets, company facts) to ground a decision. Query params: query (required), count 1-100 (default 10), livecrawl (web|news|all; fetches live page contents, charged per result), country, freshness. Paid per call in USDC.
Output
A JSON object with a 'results' field containing 'web' and/or 'news' arrays. Each web result includes url, title, snippets (index excerpts), optional page_age, and optional 'contents' (scraped page HTML/text when livecrawl is requested). News results include url, title, and description. A 'metadata' field accompanies the results.

Prefer it over static knowledge bases when recency matters (news, markets, company updates). The livecrawl option is valuable when full page contents are needed beyond index snippets. The country and freshness filters make it especially useful for geo-targeted or time-bounded research.
Side effects
- Missing required 'query' parameter returns a 400 error
- count exceeding 100 is rejected
- Invalid country code may return no geographically filtered results
- livecrawl fetch failures result in missing 'contents' fields for affected results
- Freshness date range in wrong format returns an error
- Insufficient USDC balance for per-call or per-livecrawl-result pricing causes payment failure
