Use this endpoint when you need to access a specific email attachment by its known ID within a thread, particularly to get a temporary download URL or inspect file metadata (size, type, filename). Prefer this over listing attachments when you already know the attachment_id from a prior thread or message retrieval.
Side effects
- Thread ID not found — 404 error if the thread_id does not exist
- Attachment ID not found — 404 error if the attachment_id does not belong to the thread
- Expired or invalid authorization — 401 error if Bearer token is missing or invalid
- Download URL already expired — the returned download_url has an expires_at timestamp after which it is no longer valid
- Malformed path parameters — 400 error if thread_id or attachment_id are not valid string identifiers
