Prefer this over generic ENS resolvers when specifically working with Base network identities. It handles both directions in a single call, making it ideal for identity verification before payments, display name enrichment, and on-chain identity lookups on Base.
Side effects
- Name not registered or has no resolver — returns null or 404
- Address has no primary Basename set — returns empty or null name
- Invalid input format (neither a valid basename nor 0x address) — returns 400 error
- Network or RPC timeout querying Base chain — returns 5xx error
- Name exists but points to zero address — may return empty result
