Use this endpoint when you have an active pooled (entry or heavy) residential proxy session that is running low on time or data and you want to continue using the same IP without interruption. Do NOT use for dedicated GB sessions (/v1/session/gb) — those require purchasing a new pass. Prefer this over creating a new session when IP continuity is required.
Side effects
- Session ID not found or already expired — returns 404 or error
- Attempt to extend a dedicated GB session (/v1/session/gb) — not supported, returns error directing user to buy a new GB pass
- Payment failure or insufficient USDC balance — returns 402 Payment Required
- Session at maximum allowable extension limit — returns error
- Malformed or missing session ID in path — returns 400 Bad Request
