Ideal for DeFi applications, portfolio trackers, and arbitrage monitors that work with contract addresses directly.
Side effects
- Invalid or malformed contract address (not 0x-prefixed or not 40 hex characters) returns 400 error
- Token contract not found on Ethereum network returns empty data or 404
- Contract address is for an inactive or delisted token with no DEX data
- Rate limit exceeded on the pro API tier returns 429
- Network connectivity issues or CoinGecko API downtime returns 5xx errors
- Token has no onchain DEX liquidity resulting in null price fields
