It is ideal when you need DEX-derived prices (not CEX prices), liquidity/reserve data, or market data sourced directly from onchain pool activity. Prefer this over generic CoinGecko coin endpoints when you have a contract address rather than a coin ID, or when the token may only exist onchain.
Side effects
- Token contract address not found on Arbitrum — returns empty or null price data
- Invalid contract address format — returns 400 bad request
- Token exists but has no active DEX liquidity — price may be unavailable
