CoinGecko Onchain Token Price – Polygon PoS

Use this endpoint when you need real-time on-chain DEX prices for tokens specifically on the Polygon PoS network, identified by contract address rather than coin ID or ticker symbol. Prefer this over CoinGecko's standard coin price endpoint when the token is primarily traded on-chain via DEXes and may not have a CoinGecko coin ID. Choose this over Ethereum or Base equivalents when the token contract is on Polygon PoS.

• Token contract address not found on Polygon PoS – returns empty or null price data
• Invalid contract address format – returns 400 Bad Request
• Token has no active DEX liquidity on Polygon – returns no data or inactive source
• Payment not provided or insufficient – returns 402 Payment Required
• Rate limit exceeded – returns 429 Too Many Requests
• Network identifier mismatch – using Ethereum address on Polygon endpoint returns no results
