How this service works
Current time, date, and timezone data for AI agents: the clock an LLM does not have. Returns current UTC time and local time for any IANA timezone, abbreviation (EST, JST, CET), or city, with UTC offset, DST state, and the next daylight-saving transition. Also converts timestamps between timezones, does DST-correct date arithmetic and business-day math, and diffs two instants. Unix epoch, ISO 8601, week and quarter. Keyless.
Output
Returns a JSON object with current UTC and local time, UTC offset, DST active flag, next DST transition timestamp, Unix epoch, ISO 8601 formatted datetime, week number, and quarter. For convert mode, returns local times for each target timezone. For add mode, returns the resulting datetime with full timezone context. For diff mode, returns the duration between two instants in multiple units.

Choose this endpoint when an AI agent needs reliable current time data (which LLMs lack natively), timezone conversion, DST awareness, or calendar arithmetic including business-day math. It is keyless and covers all common timezone input formats (IANA, abbreviation, city, UTC offset), making it suitable for scheduling, deadline calculation, meeting coordination, and any agent workflow that depends on accurate time context.
Side effects
- Unknown or misspelled timezone returns an error — IANA zone names are case-sensitive
- Invalid timestamp format (non-ISO, non-epoch) causes a parsing error
- Duration string with unsupported unit (e.g. decades) is rejected
- Requesting more than 12 timezones in a single comma-separated list exceeds the limit
- Network or upstream downtime returns a 5xx error
