How this service works
Pre-spend check from the seller census: each Bazaar-indexed resource is re-probed periodically (liveness, 402-envelope compliance, declared output schema, latency, usage) and mapped to pay | caution | avoid with an EIP-712 signature a router checks offline. Query one resource, a payTo, or page the feed by verdict. MUST be invoked before dispatching to an unknown seller. Do NOT use to probe on demand (see /api/seller/vet). Settles $0.002 USDC; no charge on failure.
Output
Returns a JSON object with mode (resource/payTo/feed), an items array where each entry includes the resource URL, verdict (pay/caution/avoid), integer score, checkedAt timestamp, latencyMs, schemaDeclared flag, stale flag, payTo address, and an EIP-712 attestation object. Also includes total count, census sweep metadata, settled boolean, and a Unix timestamp.

Use this endpoint when you need a fast, cached, EIP-712-attested trust verdict for an x402 seller before dispatching payment — it is cheaper and faster than on-demand probing (/api/seller/vet) because it reads from the periodic census sweep. Prefer it for routing decisions in automated agent pipelines where you need a signed, verifiable verdict rather than a live probe. Use /api/seller/vet instead when you need a fresh real-time probe of a seller not yet in the census or when the census entry is stale.
Side effects
- Resource URL not found in census — returns empty items array
- Invalid EVM address format for payTo — validation error
- Rate limiting if called too frequently for on-demand probing (use /api/seller/vet instead)
- Stale verdict if resource has not been re-probed recently (stale:true in response)
- Payment failure — $0.002 USDC not settled, no charge applied, no receipt issued
- Invalid verdict enum value in filter parameter — schema validation error
